USA Diary: Las Vegas and The Grand Canyon

Hey loves!

So after Chicago we flew to the one and only fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada! The flight was sooooo horrible, the plane was shaking all the time. It was both scary and very very unpleasant. The weather in LV was no picnic either. It was over 40 degrees Celsius, so we had to spend most of the time in our hotel room. Which was fine, because we lived on the 53rd floor with the most amazing view over Las Vegas.

The last time we were in the States we heard a lot of great reviews about the In-n-Out burger, but we didn't have the time to check it out. But this time it was on our to do list. And I have to say that these burgers are the best burgers I have ever tasted! I really recommend it to everyone who visits USA and is looking for a place to eat some delicious burgers!

We stayed in a hotel called Vdara and as I said before our room was on the 53rd floor which allowed us to enjoy this amazing view! Imagine waking up to this view everyday.

In the evening after it's cooled of a bit we visited the downtown Las Vegas ( or the old Vegas). We just walked around and admired the first casinos. It was still pretty hot so we just spent the rest of our night in our hotel room ( I know, it sounds a bit boring.. But spending your time in an American hotel room is still better than just staying at home.)

And again the spectacular view from our hotel room overlooking night-time Las Vegas.

As it was so hot and it was our second time in Las Vegas we really didn't spend a lot of time walking down the Strip and just exploring the city. Instead we spent our time getting ready for our trip from Las Vegas to LA. We rented a car, bought all the stuff we needed for those long days in the car and planned our trip. Of course there were always time left for shopping!Whenever we felt like it we would go down stairs and enjoy the beautiful fountain show in Belagio.

We spent just two days in Las Vegas, so since it was so terribly hot we went to see a show ( because there are so many of them in Las Vegas). We decided to see Cirque du Soleil, because we've seen them before and it was just such a mesmerizing show! And even though we've seen them before the show left me speechless. It really is amazing and worth the money.

After Cirque du Soleil we took a quick walk down the strip and enjoyed the luminous lights.

The next morning we woke up and started our trip to LA. Our first stop was the Valley of Fire State Park. It's main attraction are these huge red rocks in the middle of the desert. Out here in the desert it was even hotter than in Las Vegas which made it harder to enjoy nature.

These little creatures were everywhere! Aren't they the cutest? These tiny chipmunks were so photogenic.

Driving on these lonely roads made me feel like I was in a Western and a huge cowboy gunfight scene was about to break through.

I really love these pictures because the light made the rocks look purplish.

After the Valley of Fire we visited the Bryce Canyon, where we spent the night. Just some pictures for you to enjoy the majestic view.

One of the most delicious things I tried in USA was vanilla flavored coke. I was so happy when I saw it at a gas station that I almost screamed in joy ( which would have looked pretty stupid..).

We started of the next morning by visiting the Bryce Canyon again.

After the Bryce Canyon we were on our way to Monument Valley. Of course we had to make short stops to enjoy the beautiful nature of Arizona.

The famous horseshoe bend of the Colorado river. If you want to take this photo you have to stand on edge of around 2 kilometers high and you have to be a real adrenalin junkie to do that. So we just reached out our hands as far as we can and tried to take a descent picture.

The Mittens from Monument Valley. They were my favorite one out of the whole park. There's something about them that makes them look magnificent and kind of magical.

This gorgeous dog was just laying in the middle of the road! Of course I had to take a picture!

And again we stayed in a hotel with aaaamazing view. This was taken from our balcony. Can you see the shooting star? Make a wish!

After Monument Valley we drove over to the Grand Canyon. All these photos where taken at a hight of 2 kilometers. The colors, the plants, the patterns it's just all so breath taking. When you're standing there on the ledge you just feel so peaceful and calm, like there's no worry in the world, like you are invincible.

That's all from Las Vegas and the Canyons! I really hope you enjoyed the pictures ( and my silly comments) and that you'll be interested to hear about Route 66 and Los Angeles!

Stay tuned.

xoxo
